How to Go Skiing with Us

Ok, you're ready for the SSC. How do you go skiing with us? The first thing to do is call the reservationist whose name is on the calendar for that weekend. Refer to the printed or online versions of our calendar for specific dates, events, etc. Reservations generally begin two Mondays prior to the weekend. We recommend you sign up as soon as possible. There is a "first come, first served" advantage, as the reservationist will explain. To receive a printed calendar, or have an SSC member contact you, email us at info@swissskiclub.com. Reservations are accepted until 8 pm on the Monday before a 3-day holiday weekend, and until 8 pm on the Wednesday before other weekends.

What does a weekend cost?
Staying with us for a weekend at our Vermont lodge costs less than $200! And discount lift tickets for Sugarbush or Mad River Glen are usually available.

Holiday weekends
(3 nights minimum stay)
$125 $180
Extra nights (no meals) $20 $30

Lift Tickets are sold at a discounted rate at the lodge. Tickets are also available at slope, at the regular price.

The 2-day weekend fee includes Saturday breakfast, Saturday dinner with wine, Sunday breakfast and a bag lunch for the trip home. Beer, soft drinks and bar drinks are additional. The 3-day fee includes another day of lodging, dinner and breakfast. Costs for longer weekends and certain events vary. Check with the reservationist for details.

If you don't have a car, let our reservationist know. We will try to arrange a low-cost car pool.

Cancellations
The reservation deadline is also the cancellation deadline. A fee of 50% of the weekend rate is charged for cancellations received after the deadline. If you do not cancel, or fail to show up for the weekend, you will be billed the full weekend rate.

What's the "fine print" in your reservation policies?
Reservations left on answering machines or by email are not valid until the reservationist calls you to confirm or emails a confirmation to you

Attendees may pay by cash or check on the last day of the weekend. Sorry, but we don't take credit cards.

Bus Trips require payment in full to confirm your reservation.

Pets and smoking are an unlikely pair and neither are permitted inside the lodge. Smokers may use the porch to indulge. Pets will have to stay home for the weekend. We love kids as much as anyone, but except for designated family weekends, attendees must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

What do I bring? What don't I bring?
We have this system down. Please bring your own sheets, pillowcase and towel. Alternatively, many people bring a sleeping bag for the bed. Blankets and pillows are provided. Your reservationist will provide you with other details about car pools, pickup points, ski transport, etc.

Do I have to be a member to ski with you?
You don't have to be a member to ski with the SSC. But we would really enjoy meeting you at one of our Wednesday meetings or other NYC events beforehand.

I'm driving, how do I find the lodge?
Your reservationist will provide directions, or your passenger will know the way. Directions to our lodge are also printed in our seasonal program.
